Who
needs a website
Many people own a beautiful website just to share their photos,
companies with sophisticated webpages that nobody ever visit
but occupying web space. So who needs a web site and how to
get one that really serves a purpose ?
A purpose :
Internet website should serve a purpose and
in most cases, should reach or target people of your choice. By
reaching many people usually sounds good but it could be a disadvantage
if it reaches the wrong people who only keep your site busy and
do not contribute to the growth of your business or even become
a nuisance -this calles for Targeting.
If you sell shoes and handbags, then you may want to narrow down
your 'key-words' to the related fields of customers but not in automobile
or furniture groups.
Key-words are groups of words that may not exact, but will logically
lead people looking for an article that you carry but do not know
how you name it. Kitchen, a broad search word, will lead people
to a kettle that you sell and so this is a good keyword. A carefully
chosen key-word, over time, will serve in many ways within the internet
and will even help your business grow without your knowing it. An
effective web page should have these key-words in the right places,
either seen or hidden.
If you need a website to reach as many people as possible, regardless
whom, like sharing an idea of yours, a political view etc., then
it is a totally different technique, your key-words should be 'diversified',
even rediculously unrelated to whatever you want to express in order
to reach anybody.
Be proper
You do not want a flashy page with colorful
vivid animations if you sell vitamins or cloths as your potential
customers are mostly looking for these serious items you sell and
will find the animations annoying; they may leave your site before
they get to see the items they are looking for. However, your
colorful animations will make a Kiddi-sorus very attractive and
visitors may be tempted to look around because they find this kind
of design 'appropriate'- be proper !
How will my business grow
Interesting about web business and store-front.
Most businesses grow because of advertising, signs and exposures,
in other words you have to work constantly to make it grow - or
it will stay or even shrink. A properly built
website will also grow by certain advertising, but it will also
grow silently over time without your intervention. This
is the beauty of a properly built website. The web traffic will
constantly sweep your site's info and over time your site will be
all over the place, even a stranger will come across a link of your
site without ever knowing a thing about your company.
This does not work overnight, but over time, steadily but surely.
Sit back and wait, people will come to you from all over the place.
It's hard to believe but absolutely true. |
